Medical Team Lead

The overall responsibility for the Medical Team Lead of the Institute of HIV Research and Innovation (IHRI), is to provide medical services, including HIV and sexual health and reproductive health-related services, to patients/clients/participants who attend the Pribta Tangerine Clinic and/or other Community Health Centers working as partners of IHRI as part of routine services and/or research study/program implementation. The Medical Team Lead is also responsible for providing technical assistance to other teams as described in the Organization Structure Chart, Clinical Research and Implementation Research and Innovation teams, and health care providers who are partners of IHRI. Medical Team Lead will also develop compelling deliverables that will add value to the IHRI.

1. Provide high-quality HIV, sexual and reproductive health, and other medical services as part of IHRI’s routine services and research programs, including clinical assessments, treatment, and study implementation at the Pribta Tangerine Clinic and partner Community Health Centers.

2. Ensure high-quality and efficient clinical services by leading the development of clinic systems and SOPs, providing technical guidance and capacity building for healthcare teams, and contributing to clinical procedures in IHRI’s routine services, research studies, and implementation programs.

3. Serve as IHRI’s representative and technical expert in meetings, conferences, and public forums, effectively communicating IHRI’s perspectives and strengthening its role as a technical assistance and advocacy hub.

4. Oversee clinic income generation by developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue, monitoring financial performance, managing costs, and improving operational processes and systems in collaboration with the Clinic Operation Supervisor.

5. Lead and oversee the pharmacist team to ensure high-quality services in accordance with protocols and program requirements, providing supervision, guidance, and management of staff and resources for research studies and program implementation.

6. Provide leadership in supervision and decision-making by managing, motivating, coaching, and monitoring teams to achieve performance standards across Physician, Pharmacy, Nurse, Clinic Operation, and Care & Counseling sections.

7. Provide supportive and collaborative guidance to colleagues and staff to ensure the smooth and strategic operation of all functions.

8. Lead and oversee institute-initiated research studies and academic publications to ensure high-quality evidence generation, recognized globally, and demonstrate academic and managerial excellence.

1. MD degree with GCP and HSP certification; clinical research training is a plus

2. At least 5 years in HIV and sexual health services, with hands-on clinical research experience

3. Strong knowledge of HIV prevention, treatment, care, and sexual health, as well as Key Population-Led Health Services, Good Participatory Practice, Human Rights, and Ending AIDS strategies

4. Leadership and team management skills, including supervision, coaching, and performance monitoring

5. Experience in clinic management, protocol implementation, strategic planning, and resource management

6. Excellent communication skills in Thai and English (speaking, writing, presentation, training)

7. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word)
