ACUTE CLINICAL RESEARCH
Somchai Sriplienchan is the Acute Clinical Research Manager at the Institute of HIV Research and Innovation (IHRI) in Bangkok, Thailand. He is an obstetrician and gynecologist by training. He started his career in the HIV field in 1994 and has been working in HIV research since 1996.
His early HIV research focused on epidemiology of HIV-positive pregnant women and later shifted to epidemiology of acute HIV infection in at-risk populations such as men who have sex with men and transgender and female service workers. He has worked on service delivery design for HIV prevention programs of the at-risk populations for many years.
His current work focuses on acute HIV infection and treatment and HIV cure strategies.
