Rapee Trichavaroj is the IHRI (Institute of HIV Research and Innovation) Laboratory Manager (MT license number 1856). She started her career in HIV research projects in 1993 at the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences (AFRIMS). To support the Department of Retrovirology, AFRIMS, she applied molecular biological and serological techniques to support research studies on the diagnosis and biological characteristics of HIV and clinical studies related to HIV-1 vaccine trial as well as acute HIV studies. She implemented a novel nucleic acid testing and serology assays which allowed detection of hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections. With her support, the AFRIMS clinical testing laboratories have been accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) since 2002.

Rapee has applied her experience in establishing the IHRI laboratory and ensuring Thai and international laboratory accreditations to guarantee the quality of services.
